GAMBELL CHURCH

GAMBELL, ALASKA

Period of Performance: 2014-2016

Rohde & Associates provided the design services as well as the construction administration to construct the 5,232-square foot church over multiple phases due to the remote location of the facility, limited material barging schedule, and budget constraints. The first phase was the structural insulated panel and glu-lam beam core and shell dry-in building, completed in the summer of 2014. Phase two is the utilities and start of the interior framing and will continue the summer of 2015. Phase three to follow in 2016, and will wrap-up everything not completed in 2015. The completed facility will be comprised of a church sanctuary large enough to seat 354 patrons, a community food bank, a large output kitchen, church office area, a 2-bedroom residential manse, and a mechanical room for required infrastructure. The facility’s sanctuary was fitted with movable partitions to provide maximum versatility of use to the church and local community.
