Allen studied architecture, community planning, and construction management at Virgina Tech.  He graduated in 1987 with a bachelor of Architecture.  In 1989 Allen attended USAF Officer Training School at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX and went on to flight training in Lubbock, TX at Reese AFB.  Allen first opened Rohde & Associates, Inc. Architects in 1997.  As the son of a building contractor, Allen spent his youth working as a laborer and carpenter on both residential and commercial construction projects to put himself through college.  With extensive experience and deep roots within the construction industry, Mr. Rohde has a profound understanding of the architectural process.  This understanding is evident in the detailing of each project under his design direction.  

Allen serves as Rohde Architects' principal architect and all projects are developed under his direction. His staff of project managers, intern architects, and associates works as a team under his leadership, performing the architectural evaluation and design of each project.  Allen's responsibilities include overall design responsibility and ensuring quality control and completion of each project task in accordance with the

contract.  Mr. Rohde has thirty-two years of Architecture and construction contracting experience.  He has worked as project architect on a wide range of projects varying in size and complexity from simple tenant improvements to complex medical facilities.  Allen has provided architectural designs for clients ranging from small private developers to large public entities and institutions including the State Dept. of Transportation and Army Corp of Engineers.  


Mr. Rohde is certified in Post-Disaster Safety Assessment of damaged buildings. This is a national certification provided by the California Office of Emergency Services, and is done on a voluntary basis to assist in the recovery of hurricane damaged communities.   Allen has consistently provided excellent planning skills for new facilities as well as accurate evaluations and needs assessments of older buildings in need of renovation.  His strong construction based background provides the basis for a direct cost conscious approach to architectural upgrades while maintaining an awareness of the value of architectural design solutions in today's challenging economic environment.

Mark Silvia

Mark Silvia has over nineteen years of CAD experience and has assisted in the design of many different types of facilities.  He has been performing architectural design services since 2006 for Rohde Architects, utilizing both AutoCAD and Revit design programs.  As the nephew of two building contractors, Mark spent several years working as a laborer and carpenter on both residential and commercial construction projects, this experience was extended by seven years while serving in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.  As an intern Architect, Mark works as project manager directly under Allen Rohde, principal architect.  He is responsible for project production and completion of each project task to ensure the project is accurate and meeting timeframes for completion. Mark also assists in the architectural evaluation and design for the projects.  He excels at Project Management from conceptual design to contract close out while also managing the CAD and information management technology for the firm. 


 Mark’s range of experience includes master planning, restaurants, day care facilities, multi-family housing, religious facilities, educational facilities, light commercial design, pre-engineered metal buildings, industrial, and warehouse design.  Mark has fostered relationships with approval authorities in both state and local

governments for all types of occupancies. He excels at the programming and spacial requirements of restaurants and childcare facilities and their special requirements. Mark also has an extensive background in heavy civil design, construction, project management and construction administration. He has been a project inspector for many types of construction ensuring quality and craftsmanship for the client.  Mark is well versed in the unique design and construction issues that are involved in today’s construction and works diligently to remain apprised of current technology, building techniques, and state-of-the-art materials.
